Things to Share!

Yup another long ass time gap. My last post was bout Booked. Unfortunatly I have not shot any of it yet. This is not because ive just been lazy its because I have been busy as all fuck! I got caught up in other projects and just never got around to it, probably gunna sit on the back burner a bit longer too. BUT! I do have things to share so with out any further delay, check out how I've been spending the last few months of my life.

First up is Cheeseburger. This is a film I produced for my good buddy Louis Matta. I also helped out with a few re-writes plus Im in it. This took the bulk of my time this semester but Im very happy with the final product AND YOU SHOULD BE TOO! Enjoy!

"Cheeseburger"

Next up is Jesus Christ! Here I was the sound guy, this was the simplest sound job but one of the most entertaining shoots I've ever been on. Read the credits they are pretty funny also

This next video is hardly a final product. I wrote a short called Stache'. It's about a guy (played by Brian Pruzan) who loves Charlie Chaplin and out of homage to the comedian, he decides to rock the toothbrush mustache. Unfortunately not everyone quite gets it. This is a scene between Pruz an Lauren Rettig (who plays his girlfriend) The music hasn't been put in, the title cards aren't in the style they will be, the paceing is being slowed down too, and I need to edit in another close up of Pruz. This is just a rough sample. Oh and I'm gunna give it an old film look when the whole thing is done. Don't be too harsh remember...rough cut.

This is another class project I had to do. It's a music video to the song "Worst Day" by The Forces of Evil. Due to time constraints I had to cut the song/video down...a lot (you'll see where)I plan on finishing it at some point.

Next is another project I'm the sound guy on. This project is still in production. It's called a Fine Line and it's Matt Hahn's senior project. Here is the teaser trailer.

This is the last thing I can show you. It's a web series I was hired to do audio for, this is some behind the scenes stuff. If you follow this back to youtube there is more stuff. It's called the Little Rhino Production Company and will be up...eventually.

Thats all the video I got at the moment. I also did audio for Ryan O'Leary's "Bruce's Garden" and Christian Qatani's "Let the Music Set You Free" (as well as grip work.) I worked on a few commercials as a PA that I currently can't find online too.

This semester was pretty crazy, but next semester...we got some good shit on deck so stay tuned people, stay tuned.

Things are happening

I dont post very often, months go by in fact. But every once in a while I have something Im pretty stoked about that I would like to share with the 4 people that read this hear blog.

Recently I submited a script to Fox. They were having a contest for comedy pilots. I didnt win. This however may turn out to be amazing.

Instead of the original plan of have it be a half hour sitcom, Booked will now be a short web series. 8 scripts have been writen so far. Each episode between 4 and 10 mins and now it will all be done on my terms.

Im looking to start shooting in october. Still need to cast and gather crew. Locations are in the works. Then I just need to get some domain space and post. Not to mention the million other places ill be posting YouTube, Facebook, Vimo, Google Video, and probably here. So once its up dont give me any crap about not being about to watch it cuz once Booked is up and running, there will be no escape...but you know in a good way.

Stay tuned!

Y The Last Man Trailer

You may or may not be familiar with the graphic novel Y The Last Man. If your not, it sucks to be you, however, I have currently been doing audio on an adaptation of it. I know there is also a Hollywood version in the works right now, this is just a fan film, non-profit. Adapted and Directed by Ryan O'Leary, originally for his comics to film class, and has be coming out amazing, so amazing in fact that it's not done shooting yet! However a trailer was cut together and I personally think it looks awesome. I'm very proud to say I was a part of this project, even though I didn't play a huge role. (I make a cameo appearance and it is in the trailer, hint basketball) So hope you enjoy this trailer for Y The Last Man, of all the projects I've worked on or helped out on this semester, this is defiantly my favorite (And I shot my own thing for fuck sake) Any way check it out and Ill keep you posted on when it's all done.

Acadamy Awards!

So the list of Oscar nominees was released recently, while I don't want to go through everything on the list I do want to talk about the category of best picture. This year they have blown the gates open and instead of a meir 5 nominees there is a whopping 10. Any way I've seen almost all of them I'm gunna do what I do best, and be a judgemental prick and rank em. This list is in order of who I think should win.

#1 Up!

Up! is not only up for Best Animated feature but also Best Picture. And it damn well should be because it certainly is the best flick I've seen this year...or in a long time. Just a damn good story, I gotta hold back tears every time I watch it.

#2 Up in the Air

Up in the Air turned out to be a whole lot better then I expected. Clooney rocked, the story was consistent and it was my favorite kind of ending (won't spoil it)

#3 The Blind Side

. Usually I hate Sandra Bullock but god damn was this flick powerful.

#4 Precious

Fuckin emotional. Monique, who you usually only see as a comic gives one hell of a performance. At points this flick is hard to watch

#5 District 9

I loved this movie. The whole idea of it is so accurate to how we would treat aliens if they were to come here. Never in a million years would I have expected it to be up for Best Picture but it almost makes up for last years Dark knight snub.

#6 Inglorious Bastards

Quinton Tarentino made one hell of a flick. Brad Pitt is phenomenal and even Mike Myers is great. An all around entertaining flick, also didn't see a best picture nom coming but it's awesome that it did.

#7 Avatar

This is the last of the nominated films I have seen. It is at the bottom because over everything else, I look for a great story and Avatar just didn't have it. Nobody is denying it looked great but a good film, a film worthy of Best Picture status needs more then that. I don't care how much was spent or what box office records it broke Avatar is not the greatest film to come out this year, and certainly isn't of all time. Sorry James Camron but I'll be pissed if this wins.

The other 3 movies nominated are "An Education", "The Hurt Locker" and "A Serious Man" I have not seen these flicks yet but I plan to and will update this after I do. For a list of all the other Nominees in other categories visit http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/abraham/detail?entry_id=56476.

That's all for now folks

Quick fix to Haiti...that won't happen

If I get one more facebook add asking for Haiti relief I'm going to blow up facebook...yes I can do that. What's happened over there is fucked up, no doubt about it. If there was any proof that there either isn't or a god or that at least he's a prick, Haiti is it. The poorest country in the world gets hit with one of the most tragic natural events of all time. BUTTTTT, I don't get why we are holding fundraisers and being asked to text to help them out over there. Not saying we shouldn't, but there is a much easier way.

Recently a little flick called Avatar was released, maybe you've heared of it. Well this little flick continues to make a ton of money and sell out 3D Imax showings. Same flick has pulled in almost 2 billion dollars. Second highest grossing flick of all time. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO why don't we simply take half the revenue of that flick and GIVE IT TO HAITI!

Most movies don't break a billion dollars but the studios and people involved still sit pretty. It's not like James Camron needs another billion dollars. How the fuck is there an issue with the economy when a movie with 3D blue people can gross almost 2 billion dollars? Where do people in Hollywood get the sack to ask us to donate money when a more intense fern gully continues to make bank?

Haiti got royally shit on and Avatar continues to do awesome. I'm not asking allot, just give em half, that leaves you almost 1 billion dollars to do your thing. That is my solution to Haiti, I'M LOOKING AT YOU JAMES CAMRON!!!

I give a shit, I do, I've given some money but I can only spare so much. 1 billion when your sitting on way more then that, aint so much to ask. You can fix this shit, make Avatar really mean something. The message behind that flick is that we are all connected, let them feel the wealth of Avatar instead of the devastation of Gili
